DOES YOUR CLUB FULFIL THE STATED CLUB MISSION OF TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL?

 

What does the mission of the club say?

 

"The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn, foster self-confidence and personal growth".

 

To find out how your own club tries 'to meet these criteria, please answer the following questions:

 

  1. What is the club goal in the Distinguished Club Program for the current year?
  2. Is it mentioned frequently by club officers?
  3. Is there a plan to achieve this?
  4. Do you know what award, if any, your club achieved last year?
  5. Are regular club officer meetings held?
  6. Have all the club officers attended club officer training?
  7. Are all speeches from the Basic and Advanced manual?
  8. Are all evaluations positive, helpful and encouraging?
  9. Is the module "Moments of Truth" delivered at least once a year?
  10. Is a member interest survey carried out once a year?
  11. Do you know what is required to achieve the Competent Leader Award?
  12. Does your club publish a newsletter regularly?
  13. Are club meetings fun to attend?
  14. Is the atmosphere of the club friendly and supportive?
  15. Does your club run social events?
  16. Does your club actively seek to recruit new members?
  17. Is there an induction ceremony for new members into your club?
  18. Have new members been allocated mentors?
  19. Does your club President give the leadership the club requires?
  20. Is there a clear sense that your club is being managed effectively?
