Mentors of Focus: Officer’s Meeting

I. Officer Updates

A. Sgt at Arms: Suggested additional evaluation forms for all members to give comments to speakers.

1. Will be ordered [Scott]

B. Treasurer’s report: Current balance = $160. This reflects payment of $45 to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility

C. Secretary: minutes will be e-mailed to all officers each month. May be posted on website also.

D. Scott’s focus on speech intros was much appreciated – will focus on future meetings.

E. VP of Publicity: We have an ad in the Tualatin Times under Business News

1. The Oregonian & Wilsonville paper have also been contacted

2. May also try Oregonlive.com

II. New Members

A. Need to close on current guests

1. Roxanne has called all recent guests and lapsed members

a) Many will try to join in September again

(1) Kelly S., Conde B., Diana K.

b) New member Steve R. never returned any calls

B. Various ideas

1. Open house – scheduled for September/October?

2. Bring a guest day

3. New member introduction at the meeting

4. Recruit new members from our companies

a) Use flyers Roxanne developed

5. Badges, pins?

6. Quarterly new member goals

7. More professional name badges – stars for winning mini-surveys at end of meeting.

8. Funny stories in between speeches?

III. Voting in of members

A. While supported in theory, most clubs do not implement

1. May create discrimination issues

2. If any problems do arise, the club may vote in all members, minus the one in question.
