Proposed Agenda:
Action: President Armillas brought up subject of:
1) membership recruiting strategies.
a) Need 20 members at time of accounting to qualify for
DCP award. Possibility of 50% loss at time of Fall renewal.
b) How does Toastmasters get their information in the
‘front door’ of businesses, to the HR person over decision
making. Convince companies of TM benefits.
c) Open House: to be held in late September, early
October.
2) President Armillas will make and give fliers to Dan Hahn
and to John Byers for distribution at Xerox and Mentor
Graphics. Try to get these companies on board.
3) There are leadership opportunities through the planning of
membership open house.
4) Need for full time webmaster (Ashutosh Sanzgiri).
5) Need for VP Membership – Dan Hahn invited Katie
Martin to take on this role. She is considering this and will
give a response in one week.
6) Scott Stevenson will contact previous TM members from
Nike to stir up possible membership interest.
7) Upcoming speech contest.
8) We suggested rotating the new member sign-up
responsibilities to rotate among the officers. This is a
leadership training opportunity to give every one
experience in case they have the responsibility while
holding another future office in TM.
Previous Action:
Subject of new membership and retention of
current members.
1) Drop off brochures at companies in Wilsonville.
2) Find more ways to promote benefits of Toastmasters to
community
3) Try to get TM information to the HR heads of local
businesses.
Follow up:
Planning is good, we also need accountability of assignments.
It may be a good idea to make long and short term goals with
an assigned action to follow up with it and a target date.
