Objective:

·         Monthly Club Officers Meeting

 

Discussion:

·         Membership Growth

o        We want to survey our members to find out what they like or wish to change with respect to Mentors of Focus

§         Cathey will put together the survey which will be distributed to all members. Examples of questions are:

¨       Your Objectives:

o        Why did you first join TM? 

o        Is MOF helping you meet your objectives?

¨       Our Meeting’s Logistics:

o        Is the current meeting location meeting your needs?

o        Is the current meeting time meeting your needs?

¨       Meeting in General:

o        What suggestions do you have to make our club or meetings more effective, fun, or more appealing?

o        Making our meetings more interesting - add a “fun ideas” section to our website [Scott AI]

§         Solicit ideas from web and our membership

·         Mentoring

o        Need mentors for new members (Marissa, Veronica, Michelle, Thomas)

§         Cathey will mentor Marissa

o        We will establish a “Mentoring Chairperson”

§         Jai Jain has volunteered to be the MOF “Mentoring Chairman”

·         Meeting Location

o        Current location (IFC: Bonneville Conf Rm) is not ideal

§         Guests arriving late may not know how to get to the meeting

§         Not enough seats around the table to fit everyone

§         Suggestions:

¨       Give a card to receptionist to call a cell phone (Scott’s if he he’s at the meeting; someone else if he is not in attendance) to announce late arrivals

¨       Look at alternative seating arrangements for the Bonneville Conf Room; e.g., set up a row of seats behind the table seats, etc.

·         Mid-term officer replacements

o        SAA: Veronica Petersen has volunteered to fill the open SAA office

o        VP Membership: Jai Jain will assume the office of VP Membership; Michele Tedd will become the new VP Public Relations.

·         Youth Leadership:

o        MOF as sponsor for the youth group that Cathey and Jai are starting?:  Should be about $15 + $2/student.  Cathey will bring up and ask for a motion to sponsor at the next MOF club meeting.

·         Meeting ideas

o        The officers should look for opportunities (such as speakers cancelling at the last minute) and fill in with educational presentations (Successful Club, etc.) and/or do entertaining meetings such as a “backwards meeting”.
