Objective:

· MOF Officer’s Meeting – February 2008

Discussion Items:

· DCP Progress:

o 8 of 10 completed

o Need 1 more speech from Ashutosh – scheduled for 20 February (next week) – to satisfy DCP objective #2

o Need 3 more new members to satisfy DCP objective #8

· Set Club Speech Contest Date:

o Suggest we supply judges and model speaker for IR Speaking (Flir), and vice-versa.

o Cathey to call John Wilkes (IR Speaking President) to see if they are interested in collaboration.

o Both clubs will probably need two meeting days for both contests

· New members vs # speech opportunities

o Suggestions proposed are:

1. Increase meeting time by 15 minutes; 3 speeches per meeting (5 for Speakers Forum)

2. Increase meeting time by 10 minutes (start @ 12p; finish @ 1p)

3. Limit speeches to 5 minutes max

4. Members can not speak more than once per month

5. Schedule Speaker’s Forum twice a month

o Did not come to any conclusions – this discussion will continue (probably by Email)

· New Officers

o Nominating committee to have officer recommendations prior to April officer’s meeting

o Elections to be held in May; new officers “trained” at TLI in June.

o New officers take office on July 1, 2008

· Growing Membership

o Cathey has proposed putting on a Speech Craft, perhaps with IR Speaking

o Will follow up with more information in the next week or so.
